Hello, my name is Wendi Manwiller. I am fifty years old, married with two children, three grandchildren and four dogs.

I was in a very bad car accident back in 1989 which left me paralyzed and in a wheel chair, never to walk again according to my doctors. After seventeen months in a wheel chair and lots of hard work, I proved the doctors wrong and walked out of the hospital. I have a degree in Sports Medicine from Temple University, class of 1979.

After my accident I was not able to perform my duties as a therapist and was trying to decide what to do with my life. We first wanted to take a vacation as a family to celebrate my recovery. Having four dogs, the question was, what to do with the dogs when we went away? We certainly didn’t want to kennel them, our personal decision. Do we have family or friends watch them? No, didn’t want to impose on them. That’s when the idea struck me, there must be other people out there with the same dilemma. It was early 1992 and I decided to go into the pet sitting business. Growing up with animals all my life and loving them dearly, it would be the perfect job for me. I went back to school to get my vet tech license to better prepare myself for any emergencies that might arise.  At that time I was the only pet sitter in the area. I offered dog walking and doggie daycare at my home. Since then the business has grown to what it is today.

I provide a full array of services: dog walking, doggie daycare, home visits for daytrips and vacations, an off leash hike every day for dogs that are trained by my staff and me specifically for this activity, and live-ins here at our home for highly socialized dogs. I also provide transport to and from the groomer and the vet.

There are many pet sitters out there that don’t offer what I do in regards to services. I take pride in owning my own business now for fifteen years and have over 300 established clients. I offer a variety of services to fit every individual need and I am extremely flexible when it comes to giving my clients pets the care and love that they need. I am available 365 days a year and let my clients know well ahead of time if I will be taking vacation myself. I do have full and part time employees and use other pet sitters in the area on occasion for coverage and I am a member of the Berks County Pet Sitters Networking Group.

References are available upon request. All special requests by the client will be considered.

I am a member of Pet Sitters International, National Assoc.of Professional Pet Sitters, Pet Sitters Associates LLC, Berks County Humane Society and I am AKC licensed for breed specific. I am also a licensed foster home for herding breeds for the county of Berks. I have one dog with which I do Search and Rescue, although she is getting up there in years. I also have one that is going to be starting to train in the fall to be a therapy dog, one that I entered in agility competitions with until he hurt his foot, and I am currently showing my youngest dog "Kai" , a smoothe coated collie. I retain a vet on call for the business in the event that your personal vet isn’t available for emergencies that may arise.

Any other questions or information you would like, don’t hesitate to call and ask or email us.
