We are Murray and Morgan and we own the humans that own Desert Dog
Daycare. We love going to Desert Dog, there’s always something fun to do and we
don’t get in trouble like we used to……
MURRAY’S STORY
I have
been a part of this pack for years, I’m the Ol’ Timer. I have never had the
problems my brother had. I was always content to stay at home and lounge
peacefully on the couch, the chair and my favorite place…that comfy bed upstairs
with the white comforter. I always knew to jump down off of those
things when I heard the garage door open. My silly humans must not have noticed
the long shepard fur I left behind everywhere I went or that mud that I pranced
around in whenever I went out back. Anyways, around the time I turned nine, I
found it harder to get up on that delightful bed and it seemed my collar wasn’t
fitting as comfortably as it used to. I had apparently put on a few (or
twenty!) pounds as I was getting older and boy, was I feeling it! Even with my
new brother around, I just wasn’t getting the exercise I needed. Now, after just
a few months, I have dropped over fifteen pounds and I feel five again! I have
much more energy and thanks to my time at Desert Dog, I plan on knocking around
with my brother for many years to come!!
MORGAN’S STORY
I adopted my humans a year and a half ago when they came to
the shelter looking for a brother for Murray. They wanted a dog that was big
enough for Murray to wrestle with but loving enough to lay with the littlest
human and watch tv. Boy, did they ever pick the perfect dog, Murray didn’t
intimidate me one bit, we spent every night running around the front yard with
the rest of the pack and sometime through the house at night…but the days seemed
to pose a problem for an energetic pooch like me. I tried to make myself useful
while the humans were away, like the time I tried to lick the couch clean but
ended up “cleaning” the stuffing right out of the cushion. Then there was the
time I took those annoying blinds out of the window and tried to make it easier
for us dogs to see, if they hadn’t put up such a fight all three times, I
wouldn’t have had to show them who was the boss. It was really hard for me to
make sure I was barking erratically at every movement outside with those blinds
in my way. Sometimes my humans would try to make it interesting for me and put
me in a crate in the morning. Murray and I would time how long it would take me
to get out!! We had to stop playing that game when I accidentally busted the
door right off the crate. Fortunately for me, my humans have opened a huge,
playland for me, it’s got everything I could ever want…plenty of space to run,
things to climb on and under, friends to play with and best of all, they only
have blinds in the front office!!!
