Did They Pass the Test?
I’ve been
surprised how often I’ve heard dog owners say with relief in their voices, “my
dog passed the temperament test and has been accepted into doggy daycare”, but
when I ask the owner questions about the daycare, I discover that the owners did
very little investigation. As with any facility or service, it’s important to be
an informed consumer. We have a list of suggested questions to ask of a
potential daycare provider. Click here for

Doggie Daycare vs. the Dog Park
The difference between doggie
daycares and dog parks/group of loose dogs is a controlled environment. Here at
Dog Tired, the staff assumes the position of "alpha." The dogs in day care quickly learn to
recognize staff members as the leaders of the pack. We, as staff, are able to
formulate the best playgroups, match dogs of similar sizes, similar play styles, etc.
Staff also step in to help puppies (aka, "doggie nerds" as we like to call them)
appropriately interact with his/her adult peers. In addition, we help dogs understand when another
dog is not in the mood to play, redirecting their attention and/or matching them
with other equally playful dogs. Staff has the luxury of selecting only those dogs
suited for doggie daycare. Lastly, we keep all food out of the communal areas to
curtail food aggression among the dogs.

Expansion Project
Update
January 1, 2009 - Dog Tired has put their expansion project
on hold. Several factors have led us to this decision. We are
regrouping to assess the current market and will re address the idea at a
later date.
Wait list closes to new
clients
Effective November 17, 2008 we are closing our waitlist to new clients.
As we have experienced several delays on our expansion project we are
hesitant to add any additional clients to the wait list. We thank you for
your patience, and hope to serve you soon!
